Prof. Chris Groves Came to China and negotiated Sino-America Cooperation
Prof.Chris Groves,the director of the Hoffman Environmental Research Institute, Western Kentucky University and the Chairman of IGCP 513, came to China to negotiate Sino-America cooperation in the future years (2006-2007) by request of Academician Daoxian Yuan. The cooperation that will be carried out, as the accessorial project of IGCP 513 mainly touched upon the rock-desertification harness, water supply in karst regions, water-related environmental problems in karst regions and karst aquifer/landscape systems in Southwest China . Moreover, Prof. Chris Groves also made splendid lecture about ¡¶ Groundwater Sensitivity and Vulnerability Mapping in the South Central Kentucky Karst Region ¡· and ¡¶ The Role of Cave Surveyand Exploration in the Protection of the World's Longest Cave System: Mammoth Cave Kentucky, USA ¡· for the graduate students.
